Product Overview:
CYCO ROT Series is a fluid-driven, self-rotating 360° spray ball engineered for full interior cleaning of IBC totes, oil tanks, chemical drums, and food & beverage vessels.
Requiring no external power source, it converts cleaning-fluid pressure directly into rotation, ensuring every internal surface is reached, with zero blind spots and minimal cleaning-agent consumption.
Built entirely from AISI 316L stainless steel and validated to 0.5μm surface finish, the ROT series meets FDA & EG 1935/2004 food-contact standards and is available in ATEX-certified explosion-proof versions for hazardous environments.
Cleaning efficiency is rated Class 2, ideal for rinsing and removal of light to medium residues across food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
How It Works:
Fluid-Driven Rotation — No External Power Required
The ROT rotary cleaning ball operates through fluid-driven rotation.
As cleaning fluid enters the ROT ball under pressure, it strikes the internal offset channels, generating a reactional torque that drives continuous self-rotation. The ball rotates freely across 360° in a single plane, distributing high-velocity spray jets across all interior surfaces in a dense, overlapping pattern.
At 2 bar working pressure, the ROT-D31 model covers tanks up to 2.0M in diameter at 38 L/min, delivering thorough rinsing performance while conserving cleaning fluid.

Performance Curves:
The charts below illustrate how each ROT model performs across 2–5 bar working pressure. Use these curves alongside your tank dimensions and CIP system specifications to confirm the optimal model selection.
Working Pressure vs. Flow Rate:
As working pressure increases from 2 to 5 bar, flow rate rises progressively across all models.
The ROT-D46-1.2 delivers the highest flow (up to ~150 L/min at 5 bar), while the ROT-D24-0.8 is optimized for low-flow, energy-efficient applications (~23 L/min at 2 bar).
Working Pressure vs. Cleaning Diamete:
Effective cleaning diameter is highest at lower pressures and stabilizes as pressure increases.
The ROT-D46-1.2 consistently achieves the widest cleaning radius (up to ~3.0M), while the ROT-D24-0.8 is suited for tanks up to 1.5M.
Note: Operating significantly above recommended pressure may reduce effective coverage diameter due to droplet fragmentation.

FAQs
Q1. What is the difference between the ROT Series and a static spray ball?
A static spray ball relies solely on water pressure and fixed spray holes to wet tank surfaces. The ROT Series actively rotates under fluid pressure, sweeping all internal surfaces with dynamic impact.
This delivers more thorough rinsing with lower water consumption, especially effective for IBC totes and tanks with baffles or internal fittings that static balls cannot reach uniformly.
Q2. Which ROT model should I choose for my tank?
Selection is based on your tank/vessel diameter and available water pressure.
As a guide: ROT-D24 covers 1.0–1.5m at 2 bar; ROT-D31 covers 1.0–2.0m; ROT-D38 covers 1.5–2.0m; ROT-D46 covers 2.0–2.5m.
All models are available in both standard thread and ASME BPE pin connections. Contact our engineering team with your tank dimensions and we’ll confirm the right model.
Q3. Is the ROT Series compliant for pharmaceutical and food applications?
Yes. The ROT Series is made entirely from AISI 316L stainless steel and complies with FDA regulations and European food-contact standard EG 1935/2004.
The surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.5μm) meets GMP cleanability requirements, and cleaning performance has been validated using Riboflavin fluorescence testing, the standard method in pharmaceutical CIP validation.
Q4. Can it handle high-temperature steam cleaning (SIP)?
Yes. All ROT Series models are rated to 250°C, making them compatible with standard steam-in-place (SIP) and high-temperature CIP processes commonly used in dairy, brewing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Q5. Is an explosion-proof version available?
Yes. ATEX-certified explosion-proof variants are available on request, suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas such as solvent storage, chemical mixing tanks, and fuel processing facilities. Please specify your zone classification when requesting a quote.
Q6. What is the recommended operating pressure range?
Optimal performance is achieved within each model’s rated pressure range (approximately 2–5 bar for most ROT models, see the Performance Curve).
Operating above the rated pressure increases internal wear and reduces droplet size, which can reduce cleaning impact. Operating below rated pressure may result in incomplete coverage.
