Product Overview:
CYCO 360B is a heavy-duty gear-driven 3D rotary tank cleaning nozzle designed for very large industrial vessels.
Like its smaller sibling the 360A, it simultaneously rotates on both axes to project a high-impact jet across every interior surface, with no blind spots and no manual tank entry.
With a cleaning diameter of up to 30 meters and flow rates up to 45 m³/h, the 360B handles the most demanding large-tank CIP applications in chemical processing, petrochemical, food & beverage, and biopharmaceutical industries.
How It Works:
360B tank cleaner operates entirely on cleaning fluid pressure — no external power, electricity, or compressed air required. Incoming fluid passes a fixed impeller inside the inlet housing, generating torque that drives a central shaft connected to a planetary gear system.
Two bevel gears driven by this system independently control Y-axis rotation (horizontal body sweep) and X-axis rotation (vertical nozzle arm sweep). The two axes rotate at different mechanical speeds determined by their gear ratios, which causes the jet trajectory to shift with each revolution, gradually filling in the sphere until full coverage is achieved at 60 revolutions.
The female inlet connection (2″ BSPT/NPT) and optional 2-1/2″ quick-disconnect fitting allow the 360B to integrate directly into existing CIP piping configurations without adapters in most industrial installations.
Key Features:
- 360° Dead-Angle-Free Cleaning
The nozzle body rotates simultaneously on both the axial and radial axes along a preset mechanical trajectory, achieving complete spherical coverage. At full cycle (60 revolutions), the jet traces a dense, interlocking pattern, leaving no uncleaned surface.
- Dynamic Seal Technology
Leak points use precision dynamic seals to minimize fluid loss and concentrate hydraulic impact force on tank surfaces, conserving cleaning solution without sacrificing cleaning effectiveness.
- Enhanced Impact Force
Internal flow-stabilization geometry concentrates the spray stream into a coherent, high-velocity jet. Greater mechanical impact per unit of fluid means faster residue removal and shorter cycle times.
- Independent Gearbox Design
The gearbox is fully isolated from the cleaning fluid path, protecting internal gearing from corrosion and contamination regardless of the cleaning media being used.
- Quick-Disconnect Inlet Connection
The 360B features a 2-1/2″ quick-disconnect fitting option in addition to standard BSPT/NPT female thread, enabling faster installation and removal in high-cycle cleaning systems.

Nozzle Configuration Options:
The 360B is available in seven nozzle orifice configurations to match flow rate and cleaning coverage requirements:
Configuration | Nozzle Orifice | Flow at 8.4 bar (approx.) |
2-φ7.14 | φ7.14 | ~200 L/min |
2-φ7.9 | φ7.9 | ~240 L/min |
2-φ9.5 | φ9.5 | ~330 L/min |
2-φ11.1 | φ11.1 | ~430 L/min |
2-φ12.7 | φ12.7 | ~560 L/min |
2-φ14.3 | φ14.3 | ~700 L/min |
2-φ15.9 | φ15.9 | ~850 L/min |
Flow values are approximate, read from the performance curve at 8.4 bar. See performance curves below for full pressure-flow data.
360B — Flow Rate vs Working Pressure
360B — Cleaning Diameter vs Working Pressure
The performance curves show measured flow rate and effective cleaning diameter across all seven nozzle configurations at pressures from 2.8 to 15 bar. The 2-φ15.9 configuration achieves a cleaning diameter approaching 35 meters at maximum pressure, making it suitable for the largest industrial storage vessels.
Cleaning Coverage Pattern:
The 360B’s dual-axis rotation produces a progressively denser jet coverage pattern across each cleaning cycle:
Cycle Stage | Revolutions | Coverage |
1/3 cycle | 20 revolutions | Initial grid pattern established |
2/3 cycle | 40 revolutions | Dense interlocking coverage |
Full cycle | 60 revolutions | Complete spherical saturation |
This mechanical pattern is determined by fixed gear ratios, not fluid dynamics, making coverage fully repeatable and documentable across every cleaning cycle, which is essential for CIP validation in regulated facilities.

FAQs
Q1. What tank sizes is the 360B suitable for?
The 360B is designed for tanks up to 30 meters in diameter under standard operating conditions. With the 2-φ15.9 nozzle configuration at higher pressures, effective cleaning coverage can extend toward 35 meters. For tanks under 20 meters, the lighter 360A is typically more cost-effective.
Q2. What connection type does the 360B use?
The 360B uses a 2″ BSPT/NPT female thread as standard, and is also available with a 2-1/2″ quick-disconnect fitting for installations requiring frequent nozzle removal. This differs from the 360A, which uses a male thread connection.
Q3. Does the 360B need electricity or compressed air to operate?
No. The 360B is entirely fluid-driven by the pressure of the incoming cleaning liquid. No external power source, motor, or compressed air supply is required.
Q4. How many revolutions does a full 360B cleaning cycle take?
A complete cleaning cycle consists of 60 revolutions, which thoroughly covers the full tank sphere. At 1/3 cycle (20 revolutions) basic coverage is established; at 2/3 cycle (40 revolutions) dense interlocking coverage is achieved; at full cycle (60 revolutions) complete spherical saturation is reached.
Q5. What is the difference between the 360B and 360B3 tank cleaning nozzle?
The 360B3 is a larger-capacity variant designed for even greater flow rates and heavier residue applications. Contact CYCO to confirm which model best matches your tank volume and residue type.
