AD Linear Hollow Cone Nozzle | Low-Profile T-Joint Spray
- Uniform Hollow Cone Spray Pattern
- Fine Droplet Atomization
- Large Free Flow, Anti-Clog Design
- Compact & Easy to Install
- Replaceable Spray Cap
- Durable Stainless Steel Construction
Product Overview:
AD Series Linear Hollow Cone Nozzle is a tangential-flow industrial spray nozzle designed to produce a uniform hollow cone spray pattern with fine droplet atomization and consistent liquid distribution. Its slim, in-line design makes it ideal for installation on tee joints, manifolds, and straight pipe runs, especially where installation space is limited.
Unlike conventional hollow cone nozzles with internal swirl vanes, the AD Series features a completely open flow passage that minimizes clogging and allows liquids containing small suspended particles to pass through smoothly. Interchangeable spray caps within the same thread size simplify maintenance and provide greater flexibility.
Available in multiple connection sizes and corrosion-resistant stainless steel materials, the AD Series delivers reliable performance over a wide flow range of 0.76–145 L/min. It is widely used for dust suppression, gas scrubbing, cooling, humidification, and other industrial spraying applications requiring fine atomization and dependable spray coverage.

How It Works:
AD hollow cone nozzle uses a tangential flow principle to create a high-speed swirling liquid inside the nozzle chamber.
As liquid enters through the side passage, centrifugal force forms a thin rotating liquid film before exiting through the orifice. This creates a hollow cone spray pattern composed of uniformly distributed fine droplets.
Because there are no internal vanes or inserts, the flow passage remains unobstructed, allowing stable operation even when spraying liquids containing impurities.
This design provides:
- Excellent atomization
- Reduced clogging
- Stable spray distribution
- Lower maintenance requirements
Key Features:
- Uniform Hollow Cone Spray
Produces a consistent circular hollow cone spray pattern with even liquid distribution for efficient process coverage.
- Fine Droplet Atomization
Creates fine droplets that maximize surface area, improving cooling efficiency, dust capture, humidification, and gas-liquid contact.
- Large Free Flow Passage
The open internal design eliminates swirl vanes, greatly reducing clogging when spraying recycled water or liquids containing suspended particles.
- Low cross-section projection
Slim in-line profile keeps protrusion minimal when mounted on T-joints or manifolds — ideal for closely spaced installations.
- Interchangeable Spray Caps
Spray caps can be replaced within the same pipe size, providing flexibility for maintenance and future upgrades.
- Dual-thread compatibility
Available in BSPT and NPT, 3/8″ to 1-1/2″, to match most standard piping systems.
- Corrosion Resistant Construction
Manufactured from high-quality stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance and long service life in demanding industrial environments.

How to Order:
CYCO AD series nozzles are specified using a four-part model code:
Position | Meaning | Example |
AD | Product series | AD |
3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1-1/2 | Inlet connector (thread size) | 3/8 |
SS | Material code (Stainless Steel) | SS |
Flow code (e.g. 10, 20, 5.2, 50-50.3) | Determines orifice size and flow rate | 10 |
Example:
AD 3/8 SS 10 = AD Series, 3/8″ inlet, stainless steel, flow code 10 (4.0mm body inlet, 3.2mm orifice).
Contact our engineers with your required flow rate and operating pressure, and we’ll confirm the correct flow code for your application.
Applications:

Typical applications include:
- Coal ash and dust suppression on conveyor and duct lines
- Exhaust gas scrubbing and gas cooling
- Multi-point spray manifolds and T-joint installations
- Quenching and process cooling
- Fire prevention and fire suppression systems
- Foam knockdown (defoaming)
FAQs
Q1. What does "linear" mean in the AD Series hollow cone nozzle?
Linear (in-line) refers to a nozzle that mounts directly on a straight pipe run or T-joint, rather than requiring a separate branch fitting. This keeps the nozzle’s cross-sectional projection low, which is useful when several nozzles are installed close together along a header.
Q2. What's the difference between the AD series and the AF series hollow cone nozzle?
Both produce a hollow cone ring spray. The AD series is optimized for a low-profile, in-line mounting footprint, while the AF series features a tool-free detachable cap for faster field maintenance. Choose AD for compact multi-nozzle headers, and AF where frequent cap servicing is a priority.
Q3. What thread sizes and materials are available for the AD series?
AD series hollow cone nozzle is available in 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1-1/2″ BSPT or NPT connections, machined from stainless steel.
Q4. Can the spray cap be replaced without changing the whole nozzle?
Yes. The spray cap is interchangeable within the same connector size, including a wide-angle spray option, so you can adjust the spray pattern or replace a worn cap without replacing the nozzle body.
