The working principle of the nozzle in rolling steel descaling

Nozzles have a wide range of applications in the steel industry. Electric furnace dust removal, coke flameout, slab continuous casting, roll cooling, strip lubrication, cooling and cleaning, power plant desulfurization and steel rolling descaling, etc. Among them, the purpose of rolling and descaling is to ensure the quality of the steel surface, so as to remove the furnace pig iron oxide scale on the surface of the billet and the regenerated iron oxide scale in the rolling process.
The removal of iron oxide scale has evolved from the mechanical method of crushing iron oxide scale by scale breaker and the blasting method of rolling with salt, wicker and bamboo strips to the use of high-pressure water jetted by nozzles for high-pressure water impact removal of iron oxide scale.

The working principle of the nozzle in rolling and descaling:

Under the action of the nozzle, the high-pressure water forms a large surface. Under the action of this high-pressure fan-shaped water jet, the iron oxide scale has undergone the process of being cut, quenched and shrunk, peeled off from the base metal, and washed away from the surface of the billet (or intermediate billet), thereby removing the iron oxide scale. Effective steel rolling descaling has the following advantages:

1. The product quality is high. Improve the surface quality of rolled products;
2. High production efficiency. Reduce the consumption of rolls, thereby improving production efficiency;
3. Low consumption cost. It can improve pickling efficiency and reduce acid consumption;
4. Reduce energy consumption. Use nozzles to save water and save energy consumption.

The commonly used descaling nozzles are generally fan-shaped nozzles. The jet angle of the fan-shaped nozzles produced by Changyuan ranges from 0° to 110°, and the size ranges from 1/8 inches to 2 inches.
